License pricing is based on the primary intended use, even if more expensive uses are made as a natural consequence. See below for details. If your proposed use doesn't clearly fit one of these uses, email stu@stus.com for a custom quote.

Free Uses
Bloggers, law school librarians, government library librarians and legal aid organizations may use up to twenty cartoons per calendar year on their blogs and web pages (but not elsewhere) for free under two key conditions: (1) they send me a one time email with their name and blog or internet address and (2) they include with each post or use a hyperlink to www.stus.com or a relevant sub-page of their choice. More license details will follow in the confirmation email.
Newsletters:
To Third Parties
This license covers print and electronic (web or email) newsletters that primarily
target people outside your organization. Newsletters may be included in a web
archive if that's your normal procedure and the cartoon remains in its original context (for example, you can't
pull the cartoon out of the electronic newsletter and put it on your home page).
Email distribution in excess of 50,000 is presumed to be spam rather than a legitimate
newsletter, and is prohibited unless you write for special permission to stu@stus.com.
The license is for one time use within six months of your purchase.

This license covers print and electronic (web or email) newsletters that primarily
target people inside your organization. Newsletters may be included in a web
or intranet archive if that's your normal procedure and the cartoon remains in its original context (for example, you can't
pull the cartoon out of the electronic newsletter and put it on your home page).
The license is for one time use within six months of your purchase.
Presentations: One-time
This license covers one live presentation (via PowerPoint, projection, overhead
transparency, computer display, or similar technologies) and any hard-copy presentation
handouts or other typical presentation delivery. Presentation materials may be
included in a web archive if that's your normal procedure and the cartoon remains in its original context (for example, you can't
pull the cartoon out of the presentation and put it on your home page). Presentation
materials may also be included in printed books or CDs that are sold by the sponsoring
organization of major seminars, provided that such publication is their normal
procedure and the cartoon remains in its original context (for example, the sponsoring
organization my not copy the cartoon from your presentation and place it on the
cover of the book).
Presentations: 12 Months
Same as one-time rights, except your license is for an unlimited number of presentations
given by you (not your entire organization) until the anniversary of your purchase.
Web Site: 12 Months
This license covers the display on a single web site. You may use the cartoon
on up to five different pages, and you may change which pages at any time so
long as the total displaying the cartoon at any moment is not more than five
pages.
Print: Low Circulation.
Up to 5,000 copies
This license covers books, newspapers, magazines, bar journals, etc. Print publications
may be included in a web archive if that's your normal procedure and the cartoon remains in its original context (for example, you can't
pull the cartoon out of a bar journal and put it on your home page).
Print: Medium Circ. Up to 50,000 copies
Same as above, but a higher circulation.
Print: High Circ. Up to 200,000 copies
Same as above, but a higher circulation.

Student
Use
This license covers print and electronic use by students for class presentations,
papers, and school intranets (such as for clubs). The license does not include
any use that reaches beyond your school, such as publication of your article
or use on a public website. The license does not include use in leaflets or school
elections, which would be Print: Low Circulation.
Teacher Class Use.
This license covers unlimited print and electronic uses of the cartoon by a teacher
for six months. Permitted uses include any typical class-related use such as
in class lectures, on a syllabus, or in course materials (print, email, and web).
FINE PRINT
- Prices and terms may change without notice.
- We reserve the right to reject any offer.
- All licenses are non-exclusive and non-transferable.
- Cartoons may be revised at any time, so if you re-download at a later date there may be some changes to the image or words.
- You may re-size cartoons as necessary, but may not edit or delete anything.
- You may not create a derivative work of the cartoon. This means, under copyright law, that you won't take the copyrightable elements of the cartoon and create another work therefrom.
- You agree to be the towel boy/girl for Stu Rees. Just kidding. I'm seeing if you're still reading.
- You agree that any trademark or service mark goodwill accruing from your use of the cartoon shall inure to Stu Rees, and you will not make any claim to the copyright, trademark, or other property rights of Stu Rees.
- You warrant that you will not use the cartoons in a manner that violates another person's personal right or property right. For example, you will not use the cartoon in a context that could be construed to libel somone. You agree to indemnify Stu Rees in the event that he is sued for your use of the cartoon (but, of course, not if the cartoon itself violates another's rights).
- You agree to respond accurately and timely in the event that we contact you regarding the use you are making of the cartoon. For example, if we see your use of the cartoons on the Internet, you agree to verify that you obtained a proper license.
