Stu’s Views law cartoons are created by Maddy Dodson and Stu Rees, both of whom graduated from Harvard Law School.

Stu’s Views has been published in several hundred print and electronic forums throughout the world since 2002. Our biggest client is Thomson West, for which we have created over 1,500 case-based cartoons to illustrate their High Court Case Summaries series (the Cartoons of Cases tab in the nav bar contains these cartoons).

Maddy practiced criminal prosecution with the San Diego District Attorney’s Office and then employee benefits with Foley & Lardner LLP.  She is now a full-time cartoonist. 

Stu practiced intellectual property law at Bingham McCutchen LLP for a couple of years, and now splits his time between cartooning and his solo legal practice representing hundreds of cartoonists.  In 2007, Stu earned the National Cartoonists Society's prestigious Silver T-Square Award for legal services provided to the organization and its member cartoonists.

Maddy and Stu edit 100% of each other’s work, so clearly they have a very strong marriage!
