Comic Strip Awards
The following is a partial list of the many awards
given annually to outstanding comic strips, comic strip
Internet sites, cartoonists, and others. This page is
very incomplete, so please send an e-mail if you know
of other awards, or have a better description for the
ones listed below.
- Clifford
K. Berryman & James T. Berryman Award
- Fischetti Editorial Cartoon Competition
- Sponsored by the Columbia College Chicago.
- The Mencken Award.
- "Max und Moritz" Best International
Comic Strip Award.
- A German Award.
- Population
Institute Global Media Award: Best
Cartoonist category.
- Recognition for help in environmental causes.
- The Pulitzer Prize for editorial cartoons.
- This award is given annually "for a
distinguished cartoon or portfolio of cartoons
published during the year, characterized by
originality, editorial effectiveness, quality of
drawing and pictorial effect." This high
industry award was given in 1996 to Jim Morin of
The Miami News.
- The Rueben Award.
- The
National Cartoonist Society gives the
prestigious Rueben Award annually in recognition
of the outstanding Cartoonist Of The Year. The
Society also gives the Reuben Division Awards in
recognition of various individual categories of
cartooning.

Awards
- This award, given by the Australian B&W
Artists Club, is a the Australian equivalent to
the Rueben award in the United States.
